Sticks and Cellphones Phase I

Twig Project

My original idea for my twig project was very defined. At first my original model reminded me of an angel but later seemed to resemble a candelabra or a menorah. At the point my bonding agent was tape but I had hopes of using copper wire in some way.

I had difficulty allowing my model to progress because it had been so defined but I realized that I should allow the wits to run along the seams of the paper. I could then tie them in with copper wire.

I found gold floral wire as my bonding agent and large brown paper to make the base. I twisted pieces of wire together to give it thinker and textured so it would be more easily seen and pronounced. I made the mistake of adding gold spray paint which over complicated the project and took away from the gold of my bonding agent.

Over all I believe that my project looked nice but did not grasp the concept of the assignment.

Logs and Chair

Right after drawing them I didn't think that they looked like logs. Now I think they look pretty nice.

I was surprised that this was easier than it seemed. Not my favorite thing but I understand the concept of curves and shape.

Bike and Downtown

I really wish I was able to continue this. I love negative space and it's really hard to draw something like a bike when I don't have it in front of my face.

Contours of Downtown and area trees that I could see through my window.

Messes

A pile of sticks I still had sitting around.

Some DVDs and games laying on the floor.

Leaf Project

A photo of my leaf project.

My leaf project drawn without picking up the pencil. Not too hard for this at least.

Negative Space and Blind Contour

First negative space drawing. I see it and I like putting it on paper.

Blind contour of Christy. I remember doing this in AP Art with people I didn't know and it was horrible. Now its not so bad...Even if she looks like a zombie.

Blind contour of Stoel. It kind of looks like him.

Hand

I had never drawn a hand before this and I am excited to see that it's not as bad as people say.

Also some blind contour. They look pretty cool in a funky deformed kind of way.

5 Random Objects

Just a few things I had on me. I'm not to proud of this drawing but I think the glasses turned out very well. I think they look almost real.

Upside-Down Man Drawing

I was thoroughly surprised when this drawing looked much like the original. I love drawing with solid lines and no shading!

First Day Shoe Drawing

First day in 110 and drawing random shoes. His foot was in an awkward angle but it still works.

I found an AWESOME art blog!

I'm not sure whether I was supposed to be looking for iArc blogs but while I was looking around I found this blog.

http://www.hotboxdesigns.com/sas_christian/paintings.html

What drew me to look at every painting on this blog? Well, it was the artist's style. She paints with mostly oil I believe and seems to be close to flawless with her technique. Also, in every painting there are the overly large eyes that are consistent throughout. They are all beautiful paintings and I am envious of her quality of skill. But that's ok.
